CONSTANTINOPLE 1920
It is a hundred years since the civilian Post Office took over the in running the re-opened British Post Office in Constantinople from the Military.
Like the other foreign post offices in the Turkish Empire, this had been closed with the outbreak of war in 1914 and re-opened under military control in 1919. As the write-up indicates the re-opening was short-lived.
